世界微機械高峰會晚宴演說

Good evening, ladies and gentlemen. On behalf of the National Tsing Hua University, I would like to welcome all of you coming from many different countries to take part in World MicroMachine Summit. It is our great pleasure to host this world-renowned event and I sincerely believe that it will be a successful and influential gathering to chart the future direction and development of Microsystems technology. We are very pleased that you are able to join us and I am sure you will enjoy the meals and the performance arranged by our organizing committee tonight.

The World MicroMachine Summit has already established itself as a key event in which the most influential experts in the leading edge of micro and nano technology coming together to exchange ideas, chart the future course, draft roadmaps, define policies, and promote collaborations in the field of MEMS. While there were many activities which serve as platforms for interactions in micro and nano technology, the World MicroMachine Summit is the primary one which admixes pertinent discussions in science, technology and their economic implications of micro/nano domain for leading individuals in the world. As the President of the NTHU, I would also like to take this opportunity to report to you the tremendous progresses the MEMS faculties in NTHU made in recent years. Taking full advantage of the amazing processing capabilities of Taiwan semiconductor industry and close interactions among partners, the progresses have been very impressive. It enable us to be competitive internationally. With ingenuity and enthusiasm, our MEMS program is clearly number one in terms of research capacity and academic achievements in Taiwan. In addition, our MEMS program has ranked among the top in the world. It is perhaps not fortuitous that we have this opportunity to host the Summit in Taiwan and show you both the academic and industrial experiences and contribution in Microsystems in Taiwan. With many truly outstanding and legendary leaders attending this meeting, the aims of the Summit will very likely be accomplished. I would also be delighted to talk to you for any suggestion you may have on our MEMS program.
